Learn to Sew

Do you want to learn to sew? In this course we will take you through the steps while creating up to four different projects. Various Projects are offered: construct a pillowcase with French seams, a zippered bag embellished with decorative stitches, a potholder  and a table runner. (We move on to a new project once the previous project is completed. Everyone may not finish four projects.)
You will learn to read/follow a pattern, choosing appropriate fabrics for the selected projects, zipper insertion, proper seaming, pressing, seam allowances, sewing on buttons by machine and more! The fee includes the cost of materials needed to complete the projects.

Supply List: Standard home sewing machine (owner manual, power cord, foot pedal), machine needles-universal sz 80 and embroidery needles, thread, scissors, pins, ruler, marking pencil.

We will move on to a new project once a project is complete.


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Learn to read/follow a pattern, pattern layout, choosing appropriate fabrics for the selected projects, seam finishes, seam allowances, elastic insertion, zipper insertion, buttonholes.
Materials Included: Fabric, Patterns
Requirements: MUST KNOW how to use your sewing Machine. Basic sewing supplies: sewing machine with cords and manual, fabric scissors, thread, pins, tape measure, ruler, marking pencil. Sewing machine rental (sale) is available, all sewing supplies available for purchase.
