U-CAN-SEW-1 Summer Camp

For Beginners
4  2-1/2hr sessions

We begin by learning to use a sewing machine: how to thread, adjust tension, wind/change bobbins and needles.
Experiment with stitches and threads while constructing a simple zipper bag to hold all of your sewing supplies that are included in the cost of the class (great for gifting too.) With the 2nd project, you will learn a bit about mixing fabric color and pattern (and quilting) while creating a '9-patch' bag. The third project is a "Magic" pillowcase.
Fabric, Patterns and Basic sewing supplies (thread, fabric scissors, tape measure, seam ripper, pin-tin, pins, ruler, marking pencil) are included with the cost of the class. Bring a snack and a drink if desired.

Parents are encouraged to participate!!!

Bring your FULL SIZE household sewing machine - if you have one, along with user manual, accessories. Your machine must be in good working order. Please check to be sure it runs prior to attending class. We have loaners if you need one at no extra charge.
Small beginner (child size) machines are not appropriate for this class.
