4 2-hour sessions, 6 hours total
Ages 8-13
We begin by learning to use a sewing machine: how to thread, adjust tension, wind/change bobbins and needles.
Experiment with stitches and threads while constructing a zipper bag to hold all of your sewing supplies that are included in the cost of the class (great for gifting too.) With the 2nd project, you will learn a bit about mixing fabric color and pattern (and quilting) while creating a '9-patch' bag. The third project is a pillowcase where you will work on your seaming skills and learn how to make a hidden seam (another great gift idea.)
Fabric, Patterns and Basic sewing supplies (thread, fabric scissors, tape measure, seam ripper, pin-tin, pins, ruler, marking pencil) are included with the cost of the class. Bring a snack and a drink if desired.
Parents are strongly encouraged to participate!!!

Bring your FULL SIZE household sewing machine, user manual, accessories - if you have one.
We have loaners if you need one at no extra charge.
Small beginner (child size) machines are not appropriate for this class.
